A magnificent atmosphere, an incredible journey on a day when the rain has given us a break.
The E-Bike Challenge was held last Saturday, October 27th, with 55 participants at Kini MotorPark, where they all got off to a great start on the impressive Kini MotorPark speed circuit. The day began with rain, but it gave way, allowing everyone to enjoy an authentic mountain bike ride. The first lap saw them fully experience the full capabilities of each e-bike before venturing onto the tracks and trails of a unique natural setting. The electric-powered pedelec mountain bike challenge was a highly enjoyable day. The bikers rode a 40-kilometer route that included tracks and trails adapted to the difficulty level of the 14 available categories: 7 Master and 7 Beginner. Participants also enjoyed comprehensive facilities and refreshment stations with views of Montserrat. A luxury ambassador: José Antonio Hermida, a national mountain bike icon and silver medalist at the 2004 Athens Olympics, was the event's ambassador. He was crowned champion of this first edition and accompanied and advised all participants with the enormous friendliness that defines him: "The world of e-bikes is booming, and this is a great opportunity to continue enjoying mountain biking on such incredible circuits as the one we competed in today at Circuit Parcmotor Castellolí. The e-bike Challenge is a pioneering initiative that serves as a social opportunity and allows everyone to ride together, despite the handicap of traveling through spectacular areas." In addition to Hermida, other notable figures were present, such as the 2017 Spanish MTB Marathon champion, Ismael Ventura, and the current world downhill (DH) champion, Laura Queraltó.
